What is a 335 style guitar?
The 335 was originally created by Gibson. A very diverse guitar, it can cover anything from Les Paul tones, all the way to tele style quack, smooth jazz, and punk rock. It is semihollow with two f-holes and is known for using two humbuckers. It has four knobs, two of which are volume and two control tone. The 335 style guitar is popular among great artists including Larry Carlton and BB King (who played a variation on the 335 which he famously named Lucille).
It sounds lovely, very rich and warm, but it also can get bluesy and gravelly and rock and roll.
